ESFA funding statement 2022-23

The 16-19 tuition fund is a one off funding allocation for 2020-21 only. The additional funding will be used to support students who are eligible (i.e. students who did not achieve Grade 4 in English and/or Mathematics at age 16, with SEND/EHCP students prioritised) in English, Maths and other courses where their learning has previously been disrupted due to school closure. Students will benefit from small group (1:1 up to 1:3) tuition from additional Maths and English tutors to secure a grade 4/5 in their Maths and English re-sit examinations and also, where appropriate, for their KS5 subjects to support their progress in Year 12 and Y13. Students will be able to access small group tuition (same teacher/student ratios) to support their individual programmes of study as well. They will also access aspirational programmes such as “The Brilliant Club” to broaden their curriculum experience in STEM subjects and supported progression programmes to ensure that their next steps beyond school are secured.
