PROVIDER ACCESS POLICY
This policy statement sets out the school’s arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at the school for the purposes of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.
We work closely with a number of training providers and employers from across the North East to provide our pupils with advice and support in choosing the correct career pathway. Some of our main school partners include:
A tier one supplier to Nissan, UNIPRES work tirelessly to support pupils throughout our school offering an Industrial Cadets Programme, Extensive Work Placements as well as site visits, to allow pupils to experience the world of work.
A local car assembly plant who work with our pupils on a number of projects each academic year including the highly successful Industrial Cadets Programme and Industrial visits and workshops. Nissan promote girls in Engineering through their GIMME Events throughout the year (Girls in Monozukuri, Manufacturing and Engineering).
Another tier one supplier to Nissan, GESTAMP offer extensive work placements to our Sixth Form pupils throughout the year, developin pupil’s employability skills and understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
ESH Group coordinate and support pupils from Year 9 on the ‘ Building their Skills Programme’ this initiative places Employer Engagement at the heart of Pupil’s Option Choices and allows pupil’s to understand the range of Careers Opportunities on offer within the field of Construction, Engineering and beyond.
