Every pupil should have opportunities for guidance interviews with a careers adviser, who could be internal (a member of school staff) or external, provided they are trained to an appropriate level. These should be available whenever significant study or career choices are being made. They should be expected for all pupils but should be timed to meet their individual needs.’ Gatsby Framework

Impartial Careers Advice and Guidance in School

It is important that all of our pupils have access to impartial advice and guidance at key times in their career journey.  Within school we provide a personal careers interview for all pupils in Year 11 as well as a large carefully selected cohort from Year 12.  Other pupils can also request a careers interview with our own on site careers advisor, by completing a request form in the main school library.

Apprenticeship Workshops

We as a school feel it is very important that pupils can access up to date information regarding apprenticeships, therefore during the Spring term we offer a tailored workshop for pupils in Years 11 and 13 who are actively seeking employment upon leaving our school.  These workshops are delivered by our on-site careers advisor.
