The majority of our students apply to university to continue their education. The UCAS process starts in the summer term of Year 12. With help and guidance from their tutors, students start to research university courses and take part in a series of visits to university open days to help them choose the right courses.

Students use the Unifrog platform that allows them to search university courses and live apprenticeship vacancies. Students use Unifrog to draft their personal statements and record all their activities over the year.

Each student is assigned a UCAS mentor who will guide them through the application process including the all-important personal statement. Their UCAS mentor will check their application and then write the college reference before submitting the application to UCAS.

Every student will receive a careers interview with Mrs Green, our Careers Advisor, to help them choose the appropriate path after 6th Form. We have strong connections with local employers and apprenticeship providers. An essential part of our guidance programme is the Work Experience period at the end of Year 12. Students are responsible for locating and securing a placement that is geared towards their career choice. The 6th Form team will provide assistance and guidance to students throughout the work experience process.
